Annual Disinfection of Water System

Beginning on June 1st and continuing until July 1st, Public Works will be switching from chloramines to free chlorine for its yearly disinfection of our water system. TCEQ recommends systems that use chloramines, switch to free chlorine for thirty days each year to remove the buildup of free ammonia.

Some customers may experience a chlorine smell; however, this in no way affects the quality or safety of our drinking water, and return to normal after July 1st.
