Meet Our Library Volunteer - Peggy Gibson

Our staff members here at City Hall often have very interesting stories and backgrounds. Sometimes even tidbits we never knew of! We'd love for you to meet them here. They work hard for the City and for you - our community, friends and neighbors. Welcome to the another in the series of Meet Our Staff.

Peggy Gibson, Volunteer Story Time Coordinator

1.  I have been doing the Children's Story Time for 16 years and have loved watching it grow and develop into a major event each summer when we have our Summer Reading Program (last year was a banner year - we averaged 100+ in attendance every Wednesday from mid-June to mid-August.

I also volunteer at the front desk twice a month, am a board member on the Library Advisory Board and also a board member and Secretary for the Friends of the Library.  If you can't tell, the Library is a part of my life and I love every minute I spend helping and working to make it a success.

2.  I pretty much like everything about living in Lago.  This is the warmest and most giving community I have ever lived in and I have lived in many places in my life.  We have made wonderful friends here and altogether have found a home where we are comfortable, happy and contented.

3.  As for hobbies I pretty much am a book hound and love, love the library.  My husband of 62 years, Stan and I are members of the Lago Vista Volunteers and that keeps us busy right along with the library.  I should say the he helps me out with Story Time (sets up the room, etc.) and shares that with Mike Zaydel who is with the LV Lions Club and the two of them pretty much take care of the "totin" and lifting as they put it.  We have 2 sons, 6 grandchildren, 2 wonderful daughters-in-law and love seeing them when we can all get together.  They also live in Texas so it is possible to get together now and then.
