National Night Out and "Trunk or Treating"
National Night Out is an annual community-building campaign that promotes police-community partnerships and neighborhood camaraderie to make our neighborhoods safer, more caring places to live. National Night Out enhances the relationship between neighbors and law enforcement while bringing back a true sense of community. Furthermore, it provides a great opportunity to bring police and neighbors together under positive circumstances.
The Annual Lago Vista Police National Night Out event is held in conjunction with Trunk or Treating on Halloween each year. Tours of the Lago Vista police facility, meet-and-greet with officers and department staff, free hot dogs and refreshments, fingerprinting for children, local business exhibits, free VIN etching, and up-close, hands-on inspections of city patrol vehicles as well as emergency vehicles from North Lake Travis Fire Department and Travis County EMS and Travis County Star Flight.
Trunk or Treating is a favorite among kids and parents alike as if provides a safe place for trick or treating in Lago Vista's rural community with its dark winding roads.
The event brings together families and friends in a festive atmosphere each year.
